Trauma care, close to home
The Treasure Coast Level II Trauma Center provides the best possible care to all acutely injured trauma patients. Our trauma center treats patients in the Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties, giving our communities access to outstanding trauma care where they live and work. This program includes specialty areas to provide care for the most severely injured patients.
To ensure the best possible care, the multidisciplinary trauma team is assembled before the patient arrives. EMS triages patients according to the seriousness of their injuries and transports the most critically injured to the Treasure Coast Level II Trauma Center. With their specialized training and experience, the center’s surgeons, physicians, nurses and staff have been responsible for saving hundreds of lives and accelerating patient recoveries at every stage of the process.
What is the difference between a trauma center and an ER?
Trauma centers differ from a typical emergency room because they are equipped to provide specialized, comprehensive emergency medical services to patients suffering traumatic injuries. A key component is having a trauma surgeon at the bedside within minutes after arrival of a patient who is in need of rapid assessment of injuries. This is a critical factor in successful treatment.
When you or a family member need trauma care, you can rest easier knowing the specialized team at the Treasure Coast Level II Trauma Center is ready to provide expert, efficient care when you need it most.
